Just
This Farm organically grows two garlic varieties selected for
their outstanding performance, yield, and vigor on the clay soils of
the Midwest. Both varieties grow well in cold climates and store
for six months or more without significant deterioration.
Porcelain
Hardneck (also known as “Music” or “Extra
Hardy German" garlic):
• Peels easily and roasts well
• Cold hardy and disease resistant
• Has a smooth, rich, sweet, pungently mellow
taste
• Yields very large bulbs with 5-8 large cloves
per bulb
• Like all hardneck garlic varieties, produces
an edible seed
scape (flower stalk) during the bulbing
period, which is
delicious to eat and adds another marketable
product
Artichoke
Softneck (also known as “New York White” or
“Polish White” or “Susanville” or “Lorz Italian” garlic)
• Has a hot taste
• Easy and productive to grow
• Yields large bulbs with 14-20 cloves per bulb
• Flexible stalk allows these to be braided easily
